Matthew J. King, MD
Matthew J. King is a native of Kingston, Tennessee
and graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1992. Dr. King received
his Bachelor of Science degree, Magna Cum Laude, as a double major in
Biochemistry and Chemistry. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree
at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 1996. He completed
his residency in Internal Medicine and pediatrics at the university Hospital
and Cincinnati Children's Medical Center in 2000; he was Board Certified
by both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board
of Pediatrics during the same year.
Dr. King joined a private practice,
Summit Medical Group, in Independence, Kentucky from 2000-2002, and then
chose to assist with the care of the people of the Commonwealth of the
Northern Mariana Islands in the far western Pacific. From 2002-2004, Dr.
King practiced inpatient and outpatient duties, as well as ICU care for
the entire population of Saipan, Rota, and Tinian at the commonwealth
Health Center in Saipan. There he served as Chairman of the Department
of Internal Medicine at Commonwealth Health Center.
In his free time, Dr. King enjoys a variety of outdoor activities with
his wife, such as scuba diving, hiking, fishing, volleyball, and running.
